Docusign CLM Pricing

Docusign CLM pricing for legal departments: what drives the cost

Docusign does not publish CLM prices: every deal is quoted. What a legal department pays depends on drivers you can see coming: users, contract volume, modules, the eSignature plan underneath, and the implementation around it. Swiftwater is a Docusign partner, and this page explains how to read a quote before you sign it.

    How it is licensed

    How Docusign CLM is licensed.

    1. 01

      Quoted per deal

There is no public price list and no self-serve plan for Docusign CLM.

    2. 02

      Separate from eSignature

Docusign eSignature plans do not include CLM.

    3. 03

      Bought on top of eSignature

Most departments add CLM to an existing eSignature relationship, so that contract shapes the CLM quote.

    4. 04

      IAM is another path

For some departments the IAM platform solves the problem without a full CLM. See below.

    Cost drivers

What drives the cost of Docusign CLM.

Eight drivers decide most of a Docusign CLM quote. For each one: what moves it, and what to ask before you sign.

    DriverWhat moves itWhat to ask
Users and rolesWho drafts, approves and only viewsWhich roles need a full license, and which are view-only
Contract volumeAgreements generated and signed per yearHow envelope allowances and overages are counted
ModulesDocument generation, workflow, AI extraction, analyticsWhich modules you need on day one, and which can wait
The eSignature plan underneathYour current plan and its termWhether the CLM and eSignature terms can be aligned
Implementation scopeTemplates, workflows, approvals, clause libraryWho builds them, and how many are in scope
IntegrationsSalesforce, ERP, DMS, ELMWhether connectors are included or quoted separately
Legacy agreement migrationVolume and quality of executed agreements to bring inWhether data extraction and cleanup are in scope
Running it after go-liveAdministration, template changes, renewal termsWho administers it, and how renewal increases are capped

    Docusign IAM

    When IAM changes the math.

If the problem is finding executed agreements and moving work between systems, rather than drafting and negotiating contracts at volume, the IAM platform’s Navigator repository and Maestro workflows may solve it without a full CLM. We recommend the smallest footprint that solves the actual problem.

    Frequently asked questions

How much does Docusign CLM cost?

Docusign does not publish Docusign CLM prices; each deal is quoted. The price depends on the number of users and their roles, contract volume, the modules you license, the eSignature plan underneath, and the implementation and integrations around it. Ask for the quote itemized by license, modules, implementation and integrations, so you can see which drivers move the number.

Is Docusign CLM included in Docusign eSignature plans?

No. Docusign CLM is a separate product from the eSignature plans. Most legal departments add it to an existing eSignature relationship, so the terms of that agreement shape the CLM quote, and it is worth aligning the two terms.

What does a Docusign CLM implementation add to the cost?

The implementation covers templates, workflows and approvals, the clause library, integrations with systems such as Salesforce, migration of legacy agreements, and training. Each one is a scope decision, so agree how many templates, workflows and integrations are in scope, and who builds them, before you sign.

Is Docusign IAM cheaper than Docusign CLM for our needs?

It depends on the problem. If the pain is finding executed agreements and moving work between systems, the IAM platform's Navigator repository and Maestro workflows may solve it without a full CLM. If the pain is drafting, negotiating and approving contracts at volume, CLM is the better fit. We recommend the smallest footprint that solves the actual problem.
